Summary

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Finance Business Partner - Operations manages and optimizes inventory reporting processes, costing, and bill of materials. This hands-on role requires being on the ground and working to understand detailed operations processes to best support the business. The role leads budgeting, reporting, and spend control of manufacturing expenses, focusing on zero-based budgeting principles, and collaborates closely with operational departments to drive financial performance and decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:


Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory reporting processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Engage with production and supply chain teams to monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Conduct stock counts and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.

Costing and Bill of Materials (BOM): 

  • Maintain and update costing models and bill of materials (BOM) for all manufactured products.
  • Analyze cost variances and identify cost drivers to support cost optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to evaluate product costs and recommend pricing strategies.

Manufacturing Expenses Management and Financial Analysis: 

  • Lead the annual and semi-annual budgeting processes for manufacturing expenses.
  • Monitor actual spending against budgeted targets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Prepare and present financial reports related to inventory, costing, bill of materials, and manufacturing expenses to senior management.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, leading a team
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the manufacturing industry
  3. Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in reconciling GL accounts, inventory costing, and inventory management
  4. Fully ACCA, CMA, or CPA qualified with current active chartered membership in good standing
  5. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  6. Strong knowledge of inventory management, costing, and budgeting principles
  7. Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis
  8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  9. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams 
  10. Demonstrated hands-on approach with a willingness to be on the ground understanding detailed operations
  11. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
